To all, Greetings, I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season.  I hope that you all had a Great Hanukkah and a Merry Christmas, and Santa brought you everything you wanted or needed.  And I wish you all Happiness and a Healthy New Year, best ever!  It is still always a wonderful time to give thanks to God for everything. Reach into your hearts and bring to mind any love one who are not with you this day. Please be charitable to those in need. My prayer for you is a simple one. God Bless you one and all. May all of your prayers be answered and a special prayer to all those here and abroad protecting us, our service men and women of our military and of our Police, Fire, and all other Emergence Responders. May God bring you home soon. Blessings, Rev. Dennis

Sweet Sound Band is not just a name.  If you watched my Sweet Sound Band on the Bonnie D. Graham TV Show, back in 2002, you might remember me talking about the name Sweet Sound.  I heard the name on some History Channel back when I was just a kid.  It was regarding Jazz musicians and how the music came alive sometimes on the record.   It referred to their soul of the musician being captured from the live performance in the studio onto the recording.  It was called “the Sweet Sound”.  I didn't even have a group then, but I knew I was gonna have one and that I was gonna call it “Sweet Sound”
My group was not just a group of people who played music; it was, and is a group of musicians that believed in the goal I set for us.   It was to make something of ourselves playing the music I thought would move you when your heard it, the soul as it were.    For many years it was and did just that.  After molding it over the years I can truly say that one that stands out the most in my mind, a special night at the Patchogue Theatre in the year of 2004, was the greatest night of my Sweet Sound Band  career and I will  cherish it as long as I live.     It was the sum of Sweet Sound Band.  It was the Sweet Sound…   I give my Proper’s to my group then and now.  Then, it was Pete on Keyboards, Richie B on Tenor Sax / Flute, Orlando on Alto Sax, Joe on Trumpet, Irv on Lead Guitar, Our beloved Bass Guitarist Ralph (who is no longer with us but is in Heaven and very missed), and Jerry on Drums.   Our lovely female vocalists: Lead Vocalist Camille, and two lovely backup vocalists Jean Marie, and Helene.   With me, the male lead vocalist, performed at the top of our game that night.
The group has gone through its changes.  It no longer has my lovely ladies, Irv, Pete, or Jerry.  Ralph was not only a Bass player, but as I felt and feel for all my members... family.    As any family, they all moved away from home.  Jean Marie is now a Karaoke DJ / Singer these days.  Helene is singing with another group.  Camille started her own group with Irv, Pete and Jerry, along with the Bass player from the legend rock group The Illusions”.  As always, I stay true to my beliefs.  I’ll “Pick Up The Pieces” one day and carry on.  I brought in the Bob Knight Four consisting of; John Roper, Lou Rosetto, and Pete Scolaro to my Sweet Sound Band as the vocalist, along with vocals from Joe my Trumpet player,  a new drummer Mike, and Dean my new Lead Guitarist now complete the Sweet Sound Band.  Until such time I get a keyboardist and Bass Player to complete the Band, I’ll just have to put Sweet Sound Band to bed for a while.  For now, it’s “John Roper and the Bob Knight Four” and “Just The Two Of Us” featuring DEN & GERRIE

Change is often sad, but it is good.
Sometimes you’ve gotta get past the trees to see the forest.   Since I always believed that the band members were family, this will not change.   I will continue my family practice.
We love to perform for you and wait and see the return with old and new band members that still believe in the band and what I believe in… family.
My new family members now consist of: Mike Flori on Drums, Dean Alsteron Lead Guitar.  And the return once again to our stage is “Richie B” on Tenor Sax, Flute and woodwinds. Along with my cast of regulars: Joe Antaki, Trumpet, Orlando Gonzalez Alto Sax.  (Pictures to follow)   Along with             ”John Roper and the Bob Knight Four” vocalists.

The Sweet Sound Band now has the vocals of “John Roper and the Bob Knight Four” in the group to add their flavor to the Sweet Sound.  They also are available on their own with, or without the Sweet Sound Band as backup. Look for us…  Sweet Sound Band and John Roper and the Bob Knight Four.   Come on down and dance the night away to all your favorite music from all of us to you…

Now for another change:   Along with S.S.B. I am also singing with John Roper, Joe Antaki, Pete Scolaro, and Lou Rosetto in the “John Roper and the Bob Knight Fourlegend group.   The original (B.K.F.) Bob Knight Four (John Roper) performed all over the place in the late 50’s and early 60’s.  They had several top ten hits on the radio, such as “Good Goodbye”,  “Two Friends”,  “You Gotta Know”,  “Well I’m Glad”,  “Tomorrow We’ll Be Married” and “Somewhere” (West side Story) to name a few.  It is now known as “John Roper and the Bob Knight Four”.  This is in addition to, and separate from the Sweet Sound Band, but are part of the S.S.B. vocally when not performing as (B.K.F.) “John Roper and the Bob Knight Four”.  Don’t forget “Just The Two Of Us” still going strong since 1990. Now featuring Gerrie and myself Dennis Gustaferri , DEN & GERRIE.

“When a Band is too Much and a DJ’s Not Enough”  DEN & GERRIE’s   “Just The Two Of Us” will perform for you.
